Dual Synthetic Jets Actuator and Its Applications—Part I: PIV Measurements and Comparison to Synthetic Jet Actuator

In order to understand the differences between dual synthetic jets (DSJs) and (SJs), particle image velocimetry (PIV) technology is used capture basic flow field characteristics of a jet actuator (DSJA) (SJA), then careful comparison them implemented. The results indicate that cycle DSJ divided into two stages. near-field downstream, pair entrain fluid around interact with each other, making complex, time-periodic diaphragm dominates them. There an unfavorable phenomenon “self-support” jets. far-field merge single, more stable SJ higher velocity double characteristic frequency. DSJs have also shown good vectoring characteristics, deflection angle (VDA) changing from about ?46° 46°. above demonstrate DSJA may replace traditional SJA in all kinds applications extend applying area active control systems, which cannot be qualified by SJA.
